Welcome to Transcend NYC

Transcend’s New York recovery residence for men is an oasis in the city, located on a beautiful street on the Upper West Side. We provide a structured program with high-end amenities and exhilarating activities to make sure that the road to recovery leads to lasting success.  Our peer based model of recovery encompasses recovery residence, a robust alumni program, 1 on 1 work with experienced coaches who have navigated recovery themselves and case managers who can guide you or your loved one to the resources you need.

What Is A Recovery Residence?

A recovery residence is a place where people are united in their desire to improve themselves: a community based on trust, accountability, and commitment to principles of fellowship, service, and continued growth. With luxury accommodations, restaurant-quality meals, and access to a wide array of holistic wellness services, residents will be immersed in New York City's historic Upper West Side. Drug testing, medication monitoring, and 24/7 staff serve as the foundation on which to build healthy habits. The flexible support structure at Transcend empowers our residents with accountability and routine.

What Are Peer Services?

Transcend’s Peers provide bespoke support for people at any point in their recovery process– including recovery coaching, executive functioning coaching, certified fitness training, nutrition support, academic and professional coaching, social skills support, and sober companioning. Clients will work with their hand-picked case manager to select which services best suit their needs: from supplementing outside treatment teams to building out a full schedule that will help them work towards all of their recovery goals, Transcend’s hands-on, active approach will help. Peers come from diverse array of backgrounds and life experiences and clients are matched with someone uniquely suited to help them.

Peer services also act as a bridge back to independence as clients move out of the recovery residence. Many continue work with a coach and other support team members as well as drug testing and/or medication monitoring at the residence.

Our Recovery Program

Transcend’s model of peer coaching and case management along with a structured living environment has served as the basis for long-term recovery for hundreds of people for over a decade. Transcend New York regularly hosts a wide array of events and activities, four or more per week, always with involvement from residents and alumni. These range from simple meditation meetings and 12 Step meetings to some slightly more exciting pastimes. Some of our recent events include:

  • Indoor skydiving
  • Weekend ski trip
  • MOMA and Tea Room
  • Horseback riding
  • Tabletop gaming and anime night
  • Indoor rock climbing
  • And many, many more

The best example of our success is the thriving alumni program that is at the heart of our community. Hundreds of former house residents, some of whom are continuing with peer services, continue to stop by the house and participate in events and share their experience in recovery with current residents.

Transcend connects our clients with the larger New York recovery community. Our peers will frequently go with clients to outside 12-step meetings and events with other recovery industry partners which promotes a sense of belonging to a community beyond Transcend. This process creates social support and opportunities to build your own recovery network.

    What People Say

    ★★★★★

My son was in desperate need of sober support before he moved into the Transcend NY house. Their program director, Ned, worked closely with him and helped him find therapists and encouraged him to go back to school to finish his degree. If you have a loved one in need of sober community and guidance, I highly recommend this program. It changed his entire outlook on life and how to move forward as a sober individual.

    ★★★★★

Transcend has become a second home for me. The people are some of my best friends, the house is a safe haven, and I often encounter the community in my day-to-day life, living independently on the UWS. I wouldn’t have received any of these gifts without the structured, tiered approach Transcend gave me for my recovery. I can’t speak highly enough of them. Forever grateful.

    – Jackson H.
    ★★★★★

The staff at the house were very communicative with our family when working with my brother on his programming. Everyone was so supportive with him finding work and finishing his last few college courses. He felt prepared and ready when it was time to leave their program.

    ★★★★★

I had a close family member who was a resident at transcend recently. I cannot say enough great things about this recovery community. They gave my loved one the much needed support, structure, and community that was necessary during his early recovery. The staff was all super helpful and great at bonding with the residents. I really cannot say enough about this place, it saved his life and from what I've heard many of his housemates as well.

    ★★★★★

I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude and admiration for the exceptional care and support we received from Transcend. The whole staff was so willing to meet people where they are at in their life and build a plan from that point. My partner needed a lot of support when he first got to their program, and they made sure that he always felt his needs were met, and concerns were listened to. I am eternally grateful for the unwavering support we received at Transcends Recovery Community, and I wholeheartedly recommend their services to anyone seeking a path to recovery.

    ★★★★★

A family member found a home at Transcend when they were coming out of a very dark place and had nowhere else to go. It was just what they needed. The people who work there are sensitive, caring and responsive and there is a strong sense of community. Sobering up while dealing with an underlying mental disorder is super hard and they really get it.
